I never thought I could study again after a long gap and with kids. But the excellent program design, resources, halo from peers and academic staff and flexible, easy to understand study materials has enabled me to finish my masters. I learned many new skills, like programming (Python, R, Tableau), without having a single idea about it before in a very easy and effective way. The discussion forum was an interesting way for remote students to be attached to peers and exchange ideas. The program has added great value to my skills and profile, and opened the door to many opportunities I can choose from.

Data analytics focuses on examining existing data to identify trends, solve specific problems and inform decisions. It’s about interpreting and reporting on data. Data science, on the other hand, is broader and involves building algorithms, predictive models and machine learning systems to uncover deeper insights and forecast future outcomes.
In short, data analytics is about analysing the "what," while data science explores the "why" and "what’s next."
Yes, data analysts are highly in demand. As organisations increasingly rely on data to guide decision-making, the need for professionals who can interpret and extract insights from data continues to grow. This demand spans industries like finance, healthcare, marketing and technology, making it a versatile and sought-after career.
With a data analytics certificate in Australia, entry-level data analysts typically earn around AU$60,000 to AU$70,000 annually. As you gain experience, salaries can increase to an average of AU$80,000 to AU$90,000 per year. Advanced roles or positions in high-demand industries may offer even higher pay, often exceeding AU$100,000 annually.
Further study can significantly impact your earning potential. Individuals with a postgraduate degree can expect to earn, on average, 18% more than those with only an undergraduate qualification. This earning premium has steadily increased over the past decade, highlighting the growing value of advanced qualifications in the job market. For example, UNSW graduates are consistently among Australia’s highest earners according to the national QILT Graduate Outcomes Survey.
