General admission requirements

To be eligible for the Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security you must have:   

• Have completed a bachelor's degree or higher-level qualification (or equivalent); OR
• Applicants who have not completed a bachelor's degree or higher-level qualification are required to have a minimum of 2 years relevant or professional experience* in cyber security or other cyber-related positions.  

*Relevant experience includes being responsible for tasks within cyber-related role that may include technical or governance roles. It can include experience of managing a small team, being a team leader, and managing a relevant project.

Eligibility for admission does not guarantee offer of a place. Study plans and completion times might vary depending on elective choice, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), leave and subject availability. For more information, speak with a Student Advisor. 

Entry via nested qualification 

Generally, if you successfully complete a Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security, you can progress to the Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security, and from there, to the master's by coursework degree.

English language

You may need to provide evidence of English proficiency to study at UNSW. This ensures you can succeed in webinars, coursework and assessments. Proof can include:
