Is a Master's in HRM worth it? A human resource management degree is a valuable step for advancing your HR career, meeting the strong demand for leaders who can drive engagement, diversity and organisational success.

A specialised HR program develops advanced knowledge in areas such as:

  • Human Resource Analytics
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
  • Leadership and Organisational Development

Undertaking a comprehensive HR course can lead to senior roles like HR Manager and People and Culture Manager, offering strong job growth, competitive salaries and a pathway to a rewarding career.

Human Resource Management focuses on managing people and developing systems that support key activities like:

  • recruitment
  • employee relations
  • training and development

HR Analytics uses data to strengthen HRM by providing insights that drive better workforce and business outcomes. The activities they cover include:

  • tracking engagement
  • predicting turnover
  • supporting culture and inclusion

HR Analytics enhances HRM by using data insights to inform and improve workforce strategies.

At UNSW Online, you can tailor your studies to match your career goals. You can choose to specialise in HR Analytics for deep expertise or follow a generalist path and select from a range of analytics courses as part of your electives, allowing you to build the specific skill set you need.

It provides data-backed insights to help you optimise hiring processes, boost employee engagement, reduce staff turnover and strengthen diversity and inclusion initiatives. By leveraging data, HR Analytics transforms the HR function from an operational process to a strategic business partner, enabling you to drive meaningful and measurable impact.

HR analysts use data to improve an organisation’s HR processes and workforce strategies.
